SUMMARY:Simulation and Experiment Environment of Truck–Trailer System i
 n Truck Lab
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Shao-An Huang\nHost: Erjen Lefeber\n\nThis thesis pr
esents a systematic methodology for the development\, validation\, and im
plementation of simulation and experimental environments for a truck and
a truck–trailer system based on kinematic vehicle models. The models ar
e validated against experimental measurements obtained from the TU/e Truc
kLab platform\, with identified steering actuator dynamics incorporated t
o improve the representation of the physical system.\nBased on these vali
dated models\, a simulation environment is developed for controller desig
n and evaluation using predefined straight-line and circular reference tr
ajectories and corresponding tracking-error definition. Following simulat
ion-based verification\, the controller can be transferred to the TruckLa
b experimental platform for experimental evaluation. The performance of d
ifferent controller designs is evaluated and compared\, and their limitat
ions and potential sources of discrepancies between simulation and experi
ments are discussed. A user guide is also provided to facilitate the use
 of the developed simulation environment.
